Personal year number calculator
Numerology reads your life in nine-year cycles. Your personal year number shows which chapter of the cycle you are in right now.
The nine-year cycle
Every personal year belongs to a repeating cycle of nine. Tap any year on the board to read its theme.
Because the calculation uses the calendar year, everyone moves to the next number on 1 January. Enter your birth date to see where you are.
Your personal year pairs well with your life path number: the life path is the long theme, the personal year the current weather.
Year 1: Beginnings
The start of a new nine-year cycle. Traditionally a year to plant seeds: start the project, make the move, set intentions you are willing to work on for years.
Questions people ask
How do I calculate my personal year number?
Reduce your birth month and birth day to single digits, add the current calendar year reduced to a single digit, then reduce the total. Born 14 July, in 2026: 7 + 5 (1+4) + 1 (2+0+2+6 = 10 → 1) = 13 → 4. Personal year 4.
When does a personal year start?
Most numerologists use the calendar year, 1 January to 31 December. Some prefer to start it on your birthday. This calculator uses the calendar year, which is the more common convention.
What is the nine-year cycle?
Personal years run from 1 to 9 and then start again. Each cycle is read like a season: 1 plants, 4 builds, 5 changes, 8 harvests and 9 clears the ground for the next 1.
Do master numbers apply to personal years?
Some numerologists note an 11 or 22 personal year when the unreduced total lands there, but most treat the personal year as a simple 1 to 9 cycle, as we do here.
